FaceBook Wins Hands Down

Below is a recent article from the company I work for: Platform Interactive

In a recent poll conducted on the TeamVodafone.com web site we asked the site visitors which social networking web sites they preferred.
The clear winner was Facebook with 41.58% of voters using the web site for blogging their lives. Not surprisingly with 56 votes and 27.72% of the vote in clear second place was no social networking.
Platform Interactive will continue to monitor the social networking space to ensure we choose the right media and right strategy for our customers. The results of the poll with 202 votes can be seen in the table below.

MySpace
37 votes, 18.32 %
Facebook
84 votes, 41.58 %
Yahoo Groups
5 votes, 2.48 %
Other
20 votes, 9.90 %
None
56 votes, 27.72 %

"As the next generation of Digital Marketers try and force the hand of companies they consult for into the social networking space I am not clear of the value proposition for businesses. With the continued pressure for resources, measurable return on investment and value for money I think CEO's and Marketing Directors should be focusing on the direct marketing experience and the software that drives their businesses." says David Barnes. "Although the blogging of individuals lives is certainly a current Web 2.0 fad, the business proposition is negligible."
